Writing Quote

I find this so true for myself, for both my writing and my art.  It is very rare that I'll go with the first character I sketched for a piece even after I've got the composition down.  I like to see if the next character or a revision of a character is an even better choice and most often times it is.  Same with my writing.  Write, then rewrite, polish, then finish.

The Window Room: my stuff

The sketch for this was one I had originally rejected.  I'm glad I decided to give it a try in full color.  There's many things I like about, learned from it, and, as always, many things I wish I knew how to do better.

Penguins of Madagasgar TV Script

So the week before last I went with some friends to World Con in San Antonio.  World Con is a scifi / fantasy writers / illustrators convention with panel discussions and appearances from people in the industry. This year art directors Jon Schindehette from wizards of the coast, Irene Gallo from Tor Publishing, Artist John Picacio, Writer Brandon Sanderson, Emma Newman and Netherlands Thomas Olde Heuvelt and many more amazing and talented writers, artists and publishing people shared their knowledge with fans and peers.

In celebration of the event I thought I'd post a script I did several months ago for the cartoon Penguins of Madagascar.   Nick was having an open script submission at the time and as I like that cartoon I thought I would do it.  It wasn't chosen however, and I don't blame them.  I probably shouldn't have gone holiday themed, and it was the first script I've ever written, but don't worry, it won't be as bad as you think....or will it?  You'll just have to give it a read and find out ;D.

If you know nothing about the tv show spin off of the movie then you wont know who the character's are, personality or animal type, so here's a link to the clip page of their show

And here's a link to my script:

Mystery Piece

Epic Mickey 2 - Japanese version!

Japanese version:

So I worked on this game a last year but I hadn't seen the Japanese trailer for it.  Maybe it's because I started watching Naruto but things said in Japanese sound much more dramatic, much more...epic.  I think I might like this trailer better but both versions are pretty good.

Ghost Treehouse ...dun dun dun

So I'm picturing the title for this middle grade book illustration as having the same glowing effects around its edges as the ghosts.

Character Painting

I came across a drawing with the color palette I really liked so I used it  for the color palette in my own character for the girl on the left.  For the girl on the right, I just chose whatever color I wanted, and voil'a, she's blond.
